Selected images from ‘A Sporting Chance’ A tape/slide presentation made for The Whitechapel Art Gallery, London (1989)
Influenced by TV footage of enemy jets being targeted and destroyed, which was common viewing during the first Iraq War, this tape/slide is located and shot on farmland in South Oxfordshire, during a pheasant shoot one Saturday morning in Winter, where the rituals of gathering, beating, killing and plucking are presented with the voice of a child narrator and music commissioned by the artist.
